Vice President, Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability
Prior to becoming Sterling’s Vice President of Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability, Leanne Meyer spent more than 18 years as an environmental and safety professional in the oil and gas industry at companies including Amoco Oil, Northern Natural Gas, and MarkWest Energy.
Leanne believes safety is vital to an organization’s success. When a company achieves safety excellence, productivity and revenue grow — and most importantly, everyone goes home safe at the end of the day. During her tenure at Northern Natural Gas, she managed the environmental and safety portions of pipeline construction projects that experienced zero violations from PHMSA, OSHA, EPA, or FERC. She also earned the Gas Processing Association’s Safety Award for three consecutive years for lowering MarkWest’s OSHA recordable injury rate from 2.0 to 0.2.
Leanne earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa. She is a certified Professional Engineer and chairperson of the Pipeline Research Council International.Back to Leadership Team
