Levi Frost
Vice President, Construction Services

Motto: “Put the pain where the problem is.”

I received an Associate Degree in Architecture from Western Technical College, complemented by a bachelor’s degree in business from Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin. My construction knowledge and passion started at a young age working summer jobs on construction crews. Following high school, I launched my own construction business focusing on light commercial and agricultural projects while working my way through my college degrees. While running my business, I was presented with an opportunity to join a competitor and national construction firm specializing in post frame structures. The operational stability and financial results I produced as a branch manager quickly advanced me in the company to a position of regional management overseeing operations across nine offices in multiple states.

In 2014, an association with Sterling emerged through a professional contact. I initially joined as a Project Manager/Salesman and quickly progressed to General Manager before assuming the role of Director of Operational Excellence. Notable achievements include the creation and oversight of Sterling Equipment Leasing, as well as support in the development of the structure for both Midwest Access Solutions and Sterling Access Solutions. Other areas of focus have included structural project development as well as design and implementation of the TerraCross Bridge and the Clean Exit Mats, contributing significantly to product development through the years. My decades of diverse construction experience as well as my depth of knowledge in the Sterling company framework has positioned me to be a valuable contributor to the company in my role as Vice President of Construction Services.

Regarding management style, I would describe myself as steady, consistent, and characterized by clarity. Transparency is a fundamental principle that guides my approach. It’s important for individuals to know what to expect and to feel that they are treated equitably and with respect. I prioritize clear communication of goals and expectations, fostering alignment and collaboration among team members. When addressing challenges, I emphasize the importance of identifying and addressing the root cause rather than just treating symptoms. Redirecting efforts toward resolving underlying issues is key to achieving lasting solutions. This mindset is encapsulated in my belief in “putting the pain where the problem is,” a phrase I often use to emphasize the need for targeted problem-solving.

What drew me to Sterling the most was their strong entrepreneurial spirit, fostering an environment where individuals are empowered to act with autonomy and integrity. Our organizational culture prioritizes open communication and encourages every member, regardless of their position, to contribute ideas and think critically. This approach cultivates a sense of ownership and accountability throughout the company. Our success is a testament to the dedication of our team, who are deeply invested in our shared goals and values. At Sterling, it’s more than just a job; it’s a collaborative endeavor driven by a sense of belonging and commitment akin to that of a family-owned enterprise.

My time with the company has brought many challenging and rewarding experiences. My roots in the wood industry and work ethic formed by the son of a logging family coupled with my passion for construction has been an ideal fit. I am encouraged by the trajectory of the company and what the next decade will produce.
